(Pursuit)
“But Jesus often withdrew to solitary places & prayed” (Luke 5:16)
God it seems loves “pursuit”. The story of the gospel itself is of Jesus leaving Heaven to come to earth for us. One of His names is even “Immanuel” which means “God with us”. And God not only pursues us, but He calls us to pursue Him.
- “Blessed are those who keep His statutes & seek Him with all their heart…” (Psalm 119:2)
- “You will seek me & find me when you seek me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:13)
All throughout Scripture we read of the stories of God calling His people to get up, leave & pursue the Lord. People like Moses, Abraham, Noah, Samuel, Jonah, the disciples, the apostle Paul & others. Even the Holy Spirit Himself, amongst many things, is described as a wind, a river & a bird in flight & God’s final commission to us as His followers is to “GO”.
The Prayer Room is a place where we too make a pilgrimage towards God; intentionally getting away from the comforts & distractions of our daily routine life for the purpose of meeting with God.
