Prayer

Intimacy, Intercession, Warfare

“Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful” (Colossians 4:2).

Intimacy

Prayer grows & deepens our relationship & intimacy with God

  • “My heart has heard You say, ‘Come and talk with Me.’ And my heart responds, ‘LORD, I am coming’” (Psalm 27:8)
  • “Prayer itself is an art only the Holy Spirit can teach us. Pray for prayer. Pray until you can really pray.” – C.H. Spurgeon

Intercession

Prayer is not simply for us, but for others as well. It is transformative, both in our individual lives & in the lives of others & in communities, governments, nations, systems & powers throughout the world.

  • “The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective” (James 5:16b)

Warfare

Prayer is a weapon given to us by God to contend for the Kingdom of God in the spiritual battle that wages all around us.

  • “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” Ephesians 6:12
